Police Chief Search (fulltime or parttime)

The Harrisville Select Board is accepting applications for a Police Chief who can lead our Police Department to create and maintain a feeling of security in the community. The Chief handles a wide range of tasks and situations, and is actively engaged with town residents and employees to proactively promote and preserve the peace.

Police Officer (parttime)

We also seek certified candidates for parttime appointments (applications from fulltime certified candidates will be accepted). Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass an extensive background investigation to include polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, and successfully pass a physical agility test. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and post-secondary education is preferred, with a focus on criminal justice or a related field. Applicants must possess police certification from NH, or another state provided that they can successfully obtain a NH certification based on their prior experience after being hired.

Application may include oral board interview, credit and background check, job performance assessment, and a community interaction event.
