Meeting Minutes
Select Board: Andrew Maneval, Andrea Hodson. Absent: Kathy Scott
Attendees: Matt Perry, Steve LaMears, Beate Becker
Agenda, Minutes of 10-2 – With the addition of items from town counsel and from the Planning Board, the board approved the agenda. The SB moved and voted in favor to approve the minutes of 10/2.
Notice of Decision, 10/2 public hearing on home-based business – Mr. Maneval noted he will have the Notice of Decision drafted for review next week.
Police Department, 2026 Planning – Chief LaMears and Officer Perry noted they have received 2 applications for the part-time officer position. They hope to have a new hire start in December. Separately they reported that they still have no timetable from the contractor for Kadakit Street paving work.
Planning Board/Skatutakee Road – In light of a question arising at the Planning Board meeting, the SB will add to a December agenda the matter of the status of the east end of Skatutakee Road, including where the town trucks turn around, and options available to the town. Steve LaMears will check in with Brian Tarr for more background.
Budget Schedule – In preparation for the Department Head meeting on Fri 11/7 and the budget season ahead, the SB reviewed the budget preparation calendar. Discussion will continue next week. The SB noted that the town continues to remain on target for 2025 spending.
At 8:02 pm, per RSA 91-A:3II the SB moved and voted unanimously in favor to enter non-public session to discuss employee compensation matters. At 8:30 pm, the board moved and voted in favor to exit non-public session.
Other business – Mr. Maneval noted that the town attorney is retiring at year-end. The board will begin researching a replacement.
SB Meeting Calendar – Upcoming meetings include Thur 10/16 at 7 pm, Thur 10/30 at 7 pm, and Fri 11/7 at 9 am with department heads.
