Meeting Minutes
Select Board: Andrew Maneval and Andrea Hodson. Absent: Kathy Scott
Attendees: David Robins, Arlene Crowell, Bonnie Rill, Charles Michal
The meeting opened at 7:00 pm.
Agenda, Minutes of 8/14 – The board approved the agenda with deferral of the Energy Committee update on meters and electricity supply. The board approved the August 14 minutes.
Recognition – The SB publicly expressed sincere thanks to the Old Home Days Committee for their effort in ensuring such a successful 2025 Old Home Days.
Facilities, budget request – The SB will follow up with Jeff Cady on proposed projects for Town Hall and the Police Department.
Finance – The board reviewed year to date expenditures against the 2025 budget and noted no concerns at this time; the SB signed the pay warrant for $208,556.46.
Cemetery Trustees – David Robins and the SB briefly discussed cemetery matters, particularly related to Island Cemetery, and discussed potential resolutions. The board will continue the conversation with the Cemetery Trustees. They expressed appreciation to David Robins for all his work.
County Sheriff’s Department – Arlene Crowell from the County Sheriff’s Department explained the county’s proposal for a new radio antenna location, at Aldworth Manor, for improved public safety communications. The installation involves three telephone poles, including a 43’-high pole with a 20’ antenna attached at the top. The County hopes the local Fire Department can also benefit. The SB noted that the governmental, public safety use indicates the need for a building permit only, without review by the Planning or Zoning board. The county will submit plan specifications for the project.
Draft SB agenda for Thur 9/4 – The SB plans to discuss the South Road Bridge project, the operating budget, public works updates and other business as needed.
