Notice of Public Hearing
The Harrisville Select Board will hold a public hearing for input on a proposed dog ordinance at its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Town Hall, 705 Chesham Road.
The proposed ordinance, as currently drafted, reads as follows:
“Dogs must always be on a fixed or retractable leash (with stop control) whenever in Harrisville Town cemeteries. Owners or caretakers must promptly clean up after their dogs by collecting and removing their dogs’ fecal deposits from cemetery property. The penalty for violation of this Ordinance is a $50.00 fine per occurrence.”
The board may take up any other business that may legally come before it.
