Agenda and minutes – The SB approved the agenda as well as the meeting minutes of September 30.
Dublin Road inquiry – Following review of pertinent information, the SB confirmed that the Dublin Road parcels are exempt relative to the new wetlands ordinance adopted by the town in March 202I for a period of five years from the date of Planning Board approval of the lot line adjustment.
Blood Hill Road inquiry – The board chair agreed to speak to the abutter regarding the placement of boulders and, more recently, metal stakes within the right of way along Blood Hill Road. Neighbors expressed concern about a safety hazard given the narrowness of the road in that section; they also question the abutter’s right to do this given the area in question is not owned by the abutter, but is the town owned right of way. The board confirmed the right of way includes from stone wall to stone wall.
150th / Sesquicentennial – Pam Thayer noted the Committee on Activities is meeting with the Fire Department next Tuesday and the co-chairs will meet with the SB subsequent to this.
Skatutakee Lake Boat Ramp – In light of the state’s inquiry into ownership of the boat ramp along Hancock Road, Don Scott noted, based on preliminary research, that the deed indicates it is owned by the abutting landowner, though a portion of it could lie within the town right of way of the road. The town will continue to work with the state to confirm.
Other business
Finance – The SB noted Harrisville’s portion of Cheshire County Budget amounts to $815,95.00.
Assessing – The SB signed the Revised MS-I for submission to the DRA.
Town counsel – The SB is working on prospective hiring of a new town counsel in light of the retirement of Silas Little. Members outlined the important criteria to be considered and will resume discussion in the coming weeks.
Cemetery Trustees – The SB approved reimbursement in the amount of $300 to Russell French for monument repair at Island Cemetery.
