Historic District Commission
Tuesday, March 23, 2021
The Historic District Commission held a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2021 at town offices and via zoom. Doug Walker called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Doug Walker, Rex Baker, Kathy Scott, Scott Oliver, Anne Howe, Noel Greiner
Members voted in favor toapprove the agenda.
Minutes of 2/23/2021
Members moved and seconded the motion to approve the minutes of February 23, 2021. All voted in favor.
Doug Walker updated members that the subcommittee met on March 16 to continue work to finalize the draft regulations and incorporated the suggested edits from the previous meeting. The Chair then asked for any further comment, noting he will incorporate Anne Howe’s suggested change under “Authority”. Otherwise members agreed with the edits made. They then reviewed at length the proposed Article V Relocation and Demolition. Members will review individually and submit comments to the Chair. Another subcommittee meeting will be held Tuesday, April 13, from 2-4 pm at town offices at which time members also will discuss language revision to the section pertaining to tree removal.
Election of Officers
Members moved to re-nominate Rex Baker as application reviewer. All voted in favor.
Members then moved and voted unanimously in favor to reappoint Noel Greiner as Vice Chairman. All voted in favor. Members then moved and voted unanimously in favor to reappoint Doug Walker as HDC Chairman.
HDC Strategic Goals for 2021
Looking ahead, once the new regulations are approved by members, the commission will work to complete the inventory of historic properties, including photographing, prepare a historic district pamphlet for historic property ownersand resume educational opportunities for HDC members.
