Meeting Minutes of the Select Board

Health Officer – The SB met with Health Officer David Belknap to discuss the Coronavirus outbreak and the dissemination of helpful information for residents, including preventative and preparatory measures as outlined by the relevant health organizations. Information will be made available on the website homepage as well as at town offices.  Jay Jacobs noted he had spoken with the Emergency Management Director regarding the regionwide plan in place. David Belknap will keep the SB updated as more information emerges.

Recycling Center– Randy Tarr, Jr. noted that the furnace remains steady at a low temperature setting as discussed. The board anticipates fuel savings in the coming year with this adjustment. Board also discussed with Mr. Tarr posting signage to make residents aware of proper waste oil disposal.

Generator at Wells Memorial– The SB has proposed to school board to share in the cost of school generator maintenance. To date, the town has carried the full expense. The board will follow up with Scott Lazzaro in the SAU 29 business office.

Highway Department– The SB will draft an RFP for paving work for posting in the Keene Sentinel and on the municipal association website.

Employee payroll– The SB returned to the discussion of moving all employees to bi-weekly payroll to save on payroll processing expenses. Communication to all department heads and employees will be forthcoming.

Other
Community Power– Ned Hulbert of the Planning Board updated the SB that he and Mary Day Mordecai had joined a steering group on the issue of Community Power, an initiative under way in New Hampshire and elsewhere across the country. They will sit down with the SB at a convenient time following Town Meeting to further discuss. At this time, Mr. Hulbert noted, Lebanon, Hanover, Nashua  plus Cheshire County are very interested.

SB signed the pay warrant in the amount of $8,960.78.
