You are hereby notified that the Town of Harrisville Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a joint public hearing with the Planning Board on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Town Office located at 705 Chesham Road.
The matter of the joint hearing is as follows:
Mark and Karen Bemis, 129 Eastside Road (Map 71-Lot 1) – The Planning Board will consider whether the proposed conversion of a barn/garage into additional sleeping quarters constitutes an Accessory Dwelling Unit which, under Article XXIX of the Town of Harrisville Zoning Ordinances, would require a Conditional Use Permit. Separately but informed by the decision of the Planning Board, the ZBA will consider the matter of a Special Exception under Article 5.3 for the Bemis proposal as discussed and continued from the ZBA Public Hearing of August 21, 2019.
The ZBA independently will consider:
Marcia Luciano, 264 Hancock Road (Map 21-Lot 14)– Application for a Variance under Article 9.1.6 for the proposed replacement on the same footprint at the same height of an existing non-conforming structure in the Lakeside District. The applicant also proposes a 4-foot cantilevered open deck off the second floor extending closer to the high water mark than the existing structure with no additional structural contact with the ground.
The Board will take up any other business that may legally come before it.
