SB unanimously approved Select Board Meeting Minutes of September 20, 2018, including the following addendum: Kathy Scott raised an issue she had with the hours that were reported and paid to a town employee. Part way into the discussion, Jay Jacobs, upset with the direction of the discussion, walked out of the meeting.
SB signed updated MS-1.
SB signed Golder Associates Application for Renewal of Groundwater Management Permit.
Departments, Boards and Committees:
Conservation Commission – SB acknowledged receipt of letter from Winston Sims, as a resident, opposing the use of Roundup or Rodeo on Japanese knotweed. Separately, SB forwarded to the Planning Board a letter from a resident objecting to the Conditional Use Permit granted to Harry Wolhandler, 26 Tuttle Lane.
Health Department – SB acknowledged receipt of letter from the Health Officer regarding the inspection of the field and forest campground site at 890 Route 137. Separately, SB noted the letter from DES regarding an Outstanding Administrative Order for 890 Route 137, citing a lack of a septic system design application.
Highway Department – SB unanimously voted to approve de-icing contract with Granite State/Morton Salt.
Recycling Center – SB acknowledged receipt of the requirements for working at a Solid Waste Facility. Separately, SB noted that Keene’s Fall schedule for Hazardous Waste Collection will be posted on the website. Dates for Harrisville residents are 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, Oct 13, Wednesday, Oct 17 and Saturday, Oct 27. The hazardous waste collection facility is located adjacent to the Keene Recycling Center, 55 Old Summit Road.
Town Clerk – SB signed the Oath of Office for Jeffrey Cady as Director of Emergency Management for a term of 5 years.
Other Business:
SB acknowledged receipt of the request from the Community Church for their October 6 Bake Sale from 10-2 during the Art Tour. Kathy Scott will discuss the proposed location with Cathy Lovas.
SB proposes a tentative meeting date with Angela Hendrickson of Tuesday, October 9, at 9:00 am.
SB acknowledged receipt of the following: HDC Meeting Minutes of September 4, 2018; Planning Board Meeting Minutes of September 1, 2018; Trustees of the Trust Fund’s NHPDIP Fixed Income Monthly Market Review; notice from Cheshire Community Partners regarding Veterans Families Program; and the Report from the State of NH School Safety Preparedness Task Force. Regarding the request from Hundred Nights for $2,500 for 2019, SB requests that this be added to the 2019 budget file.
Primex Conflict Management Online Training Courses – SB recommends this approximately 35-minute course to all town employees.
SB forwarded Giving Assistant donation of $25.00 to the Harrisville Community Fund.
