Documents signed and reviewed:
SB signed weekly disbursements in the amount of $2,299.32.
SB signed Selectmen Meeting Minutes for September 14, 2017 and September 19, 2017.
Regarding the Monadnock Disposal Service Agreement, SB deferred a decision until next week’s meeting.
SB requests that Angela forward a copy of the Surface Water Data Information Submittal Form to the Conservation Commission.
SB will review the matter of Veterans Memorial Park and Mr. Sundstrom and Mr. Getty at next week’s meeting.
Departments, Boards and Committees:
Conservation Commission – SB acknowledged receipt of correspondence on the Silver Lake Boar Ramp and reviewed the material on the easement deed for Judith Patton.
Fire Department – SB signed the proposal to repair the overhead bay doors. In addition, SB reviewed separate proposals for the Fire Station heater unit from Gary Jackson for $4,483 and the quote from Rymes for $3,714. SB unanimously voted in favor to approve Rymes.
Health Officer – SB noted the good report regarding the drinking water results for the Skatutakee Spring.
Planning Board – SB noted the meeting minutes for September 13, 2017.
Recycling Center – Pat Gagne provided SB with estimated pricing for steel doors and fiberglass doors. SB approved the fiberglass doors and Mr. Gagne will install the doors as soon as his schedule allows. Regarding possible changes at the recycling center, Phyllis Tarr attended to recommend that the town continue to manage cardboard. SB will continue to review the matter, noting the Fiber Mixed Loose Confirmationfrom NRRA in the estimated amount of $3,500 and reiterating to Ms. Tarr the pending proposal from Monadnock Disposal Services to install three containers for metal, paper and plastic (numbers 1 through 7).
Tax Collector – SB acknowledged receipt of the information about deeding.
Town Clerk – SB signed Oath of Office for Neil Sandford to serve a term of five months as Deputy Tax Collector. SB signed Oath of Office for Patrick Gagne to serve as an alternate on the ZBA. Mr. Gagne will stop by the Town Clerk’s office this week to sign.
Zoning Board – SB acknowledged receipt of the agenda and meeting minutes for September 20, 2017.
Other Business:
SWRPC – Mari Brunner, Planner for SWRPC, met with the SB to discuss SWRPC’s organizational structure and mission, and to offer support to the town on its planning priorities. SB stated the town is currently focusing on regional cooperation opportunities and enhancing broadband/cell service. SB expressed its interest in having SWRPC serve as a central organizer of regional cooperation efforts and also to provide specific support on regional cooperation initiatives, such as emergency services, schools, or town administration. SB also requested SWRPC possibly serve as a central contact point and repository on broadband/cell activity around the region. Andrew Maneval will pursue the relevant contacts within SWRPC on both fronts.
SB acknowledged receipt of information from NH.GOV, Health Trust and NHPDIP.
Trails Committee – Barbara Watkins attended and notified SB that the bridge on the rail trail, heading east from Jaquith Road to Hancock, is nearing completion. Ms. Watkins clarified that the Harris Center, with whom the committee is working, owns the land.
Upcoming Meetings:
September 28 – Mike Nork and Mike Durfor from NRRA will meet with the SB at 7:00 pm.
October 10 – Proposed Land Use Boards Meeting at 6:30 pm.
