Public Hearing on NHDOT SB38 Funds (Highway Block Grant)

The public hearing opened at 7:00 pm. SB determined that the highway block funds would be allocated for purposes of maintenance and repair of town roads.

The hearing closed at 7:05 pm.

SB signed both copies of the Selectmen Meeting Minutes for August 31, 2017.

Departments, Boards and Committees:
Assessing – SB signed Current Use Application for Seaver Silver Lake Farm Trust of 2011

Conservation Commission – SB noted Meeting Agenda for September 6, 2017.

Land Use Board Heads – SB noted that Andrew Maneval will be in touch with the heads of the land use boards to suggest a meeting for Thursday, September 28 at 6:30 pm. SB envisions attendance at this meeting by the co-chairs of the Planning Board, Mr. Grant and Sorenson of the ZBA, Mr. Sims from the Conservation Commission and Mike Wilder as Building Inspector to attend.

Recycling Center – SB continued to discuss potential options for collection and disposal of recyclables and awaits a proposal from Monadnock Disposal Services.

Town Clerk – SB has reviewed the Town Clerk’s proposal regarding a change in office hours as well as mail in registration renewals and approves of the change and new procedure. SB also requests that the Town Clerk report at some point within the next 6 months as to the effectiveness of this new procedure. SB recommends that the Town Clerk include notice of the new hours and new procedure in an article in Common Threads.

Other Business:
Budget 2018 – SB requests that Angela Hendrickson add contribution requests from Big Brothers, Big Sisters for $600.00 and MCVP for $165.00 to the budget folder.

Streetlights – SB continues to await a response from Hamblett regarding timing for installation of the test lights and will issue a public notice at that time.

Regarding the request from the neighbor of the dog owner, SB assumes the matter has been referred to the Police Chief for input and asks to be contacted with any further issues.

SWRPC – SB noted the Hancock Road Speed Study and will share the information with the Co-Chair of the Planning Board.
