Documents signed and reviewed:

SB signed weekly financials in the amount of $8,734.16.

SB signed both copies of the Selectmen Meeting Minutes for August 24, 2017.

SB acknowledged receipt of the NH FEMA Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Formal Approval Letter. It has been given to Andrew Maneval, as Emergency Management Director, to file with the Town’s Emergency Management Plan.

Regarding the SWRPC Local Mitigation Plan Review Tool, it was provided to Emergency Management Director Andrew Maneval for review and inclusion with the Hazard Mitigation Plan.

SB signed the Rymes Contract Agreement for $2.44 for #2 Blend heating oil and $1.99 for regular.

SB signed three Authorizations: 1) To transfer $100,000.00 from the Roads Trust Fund to the Operating Account; 2) To transfer $68,700.00 from the Employee Benefits Capital Reserve Fund to be placed into a Town Employee Retirement Plan; 3) and to transfer $170,000.00 from the Operating Account to various Capital Reserve Funds.

Departments, Boards and Committees:
Fire Department – Concerning the Fire Chief’s request for repairs to the overhead doors to the fire station, the SB will talk to him directly to discuss the request and next steps.

Highway DepartmentAndrew Maneval moved to authorize a check for $500.00 for a sand screen for the Highway Department. All voted in favor.

SB discussed with the Road Agent the issue of purchasing salt. The Road Agent advises that the quality of salt provided by Cargill, together with other issues and problems with respect to state- sponsored purchasing, is far superior to that available through state purchasing and Cargill is supplying other towns in the region. Based on this, SB approved the contract with Cargill.

Planning Board
– SB noted Public Notice for a training session at the town offices on August 29.

Tax Collector – SB signed the refund request for overpayment of 2017 taxes. SB approves the Tax Collector’s request for the tax collector conference and for the Registration Fee.


Other Business
:
Streetlights – The SB has received the two sample street lights. Selectman Miner has made inquiries to Hamblet regarding their ability to install them for the test. Once the SB hears back from them, SB will notify the public of the timing of the test.

NHDOT – SB noted NHDOT Transportation Project Plans for 2019-28; SB requests that Angela Hendrickson copy the materials provided by the DOT and post a copy at the post office and in town hall regarding the DOT’s public notice.

NRRA – SB acknowledged receipt of the letter regarding possible changes to the Recycling Center. SB requests that Angela Hendrickson communicate with NRRA that, if they would like to come in to a SB meeting in the near future, SB would be willing to hear from them on the subject.
