NOTThe Harrisville Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing
Thursday, January 29th at 6:00 PM, in advance of its regular
meeting at the Harrisville Town Offices located at 705 Chesham
Road. The purpose of this public hearing is discuss a Town
Highway Garage planned for the Willard Road site.
Proposed Warrant Article
To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of
$500,000 for the purpose of constructing a new highway garage
and for any costs related thereto. The said sum is to be raised
through the withdrawal of $130,000 from the Town Buildings
Capital Reserve Fund and the issuance of notes in accordance
with the provisions of the Municipal Finance Act (RSA 33).
Further, to authorize the Selectmen to apply for, obtain and
accept federal, state or other aid, if any, which may become
available for said project and to comply with all laws applicable to
this project; to authorize the Selectmen to negotiate said notes to
determine the rate of interest thereon and the maturity and other
terms thereof; and any other vote relative thereto. This will be a
non-lapsing appropriation and will note lapse until the project is
complete or by 12/31/2019, whichever is sooner.
(Recommended by the Selectmen, Written ballots required, 2/3
majority required.)

All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing and
to express their views. Written comments will be accepted until
5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28th at the Town office.
